Vehicle Reservation:
A vehicle reservation can be made through the following methods: in-person at our headquarters in Heraklion, via our website www.soultatos.gr or via telephone communication at +306943445550

Driver Requirements:
The primary driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license for minimum two (2) years.
Additional registered drivers must meet the same age and license requirements and must be declared in the rental agreement at the start of the rental period.
Age restrictions may vary for certain categories.
Please note that the maximum age for renting a vehicle in all categories is 75 years old.

Vehicle Pickup:
For the pickup of the vehicle, the following documents are required:
• Driving license or International Driving Permit
• Identity card or Passport
• Credit/Debit card (VISA/MasterCard) or cash for the deposit

Security Deposit:
A deposit will be held on the renter’s credit/debit card (VISA or MasterCard), or paid in cash, at the time of pickup to cover potential damages, fines, or other charges not covered by the insurance.
Please note that this deposit is subject to our terms and conditions.

Prepaid or Virtual cards and cards held by individuals other than the primary driver will not be accepted.

Payment and Pricing:
Payment can be made by credit/debit card or by cash. The full amount is settled upon vehicle pickup. We accept: VISA, MasterCard, Maestro and JCB cards.
Rental prices are based on the vehicle category and rental duration, as determined at the time of reservation.
Additional charges may apply for optional services such as additional insurance packages, child seats, out-of-hours service, and additional drivers.

VAT and Taxes:
Value Added Tax (VAT) at 24% and other applicable taxes are included in the rental prices.

Additional Services:
• Additional drivers €4/day – up to 3 drivers can be added to each rental, including the primary driver.
• Child seats €3/day per seat.

Fuel Policy:
Vehicles are provided with a specific amount of fuel and must be returned at the same level. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refueling fee of €15 applies, plus the missing fuel quantity.

Out of Hours Deliveries & Returns:
For deliveries or returns of vehicles outside of operating hours, from 9:30 PM to 8:30 AM, an additional charge applies.

Cancellation and Changes:
Cancellations can be made free of charge, up to 7 days before the scheduled pickup date and time. Changes to the reservation can be made up to 3 days before the scheduled pickup date and time, subject to availability. Cancellations within 7 days are subject to a cancellation fee.

Vehicle Use:
The vehicle must be used only for lawful purposes and on authorized paved roads of Crete. Smoking, driving off-road and transporting pets in the rented vehicle are strictly prohibited.

Vehicle Condition:
The vehicle must be returned in the same condition it was delivered, considering normal wear and tear. Additional charges may apply for cleaning upon return.

Accidents and Damages:
In case of an accident or damage, contact the emergency hotline immediately. Vehicles are promptly repaired or replaced, if necessary, based on availability, at the company’s central offices in Heraklion area.

Roadside Assistance:
Roadside assistance is provided for mechanical breakdowns or accidents. Non-mechanical issues, such as a flat tire or lost of car key, incur additional charges and are not covered by insurance or roadside assistance.

Traffic Violations:
The renter is responsible for all traffic violations or fines incurred during the rental period.

Vehicle Return:
The vehicle must be returned to the designated rental location at the scheduled time and date. For late returns beyond one hour, a charge equal to a one-day rental applies.

Refunds:
The renter is not entitled to a refund no matter the reason and in particular in the following situations:
• If the vehicle is returned earlier than the pre-agreed date or time stated in the rental contract.
• If there is additional fuel in the tank upon return.
• In case of false or inaccurate information provided during the booking process.

Cross-Border Travel:
Under no circumstances is the transportation of the rented vehicle allowed outside the borders of Crete. This prohibition includes trips to other islands or destinations within the mainland. In such cases, all insurance coverage is automatically invalidated!

Liability Disclaimer:
The rental company is not liable for any loss or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle during the rental period or in case of vehicle theft.

Driver Conduct:
The renter and any additional drivers must comply with local traffic laws and regulations, including alcohol consumption limits and adherence to the Traffic Code.

Termination of Rental:
The rental company reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement in case of misuse, vehicle damage, or if the renter violates the terms and conditions.

INSURANCE COVERAGE:
Included in the prices: Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.) with Excess, Third Party Liability Insurance, Theft Insurance with Excess.
An additional insurance package S.C.D.W. is available for purchase, for further reduction of the excess in case of damage or theft.

In case of an accident, partial or total theft of the vehicle, the renter is obligated to pay up to the amount of the Excess, for the repair of damages to the company’s vehicle.

The Excess is adjusted to the following amounts:

Collision Damage Waiver with Reduced Excess (S.C.D.W)
The renter may opt for the super collision damage waiver with reduced excess, by paying an additional daily cost, depending on the rental period and the vehicle category, so that their financial liability for the repair of damages that may arise is reduced by 50%.
*Please note that this specific insurance may not apply to all vehicle categories.

CANCELLATION OF INSURANCE
No insurance covers the following:
• Damages to the underside & the roof of the vehicle
• Tires-wheels-rims-hubcaps
• Mirrors-glass-windows-windshields
• Antennas
• Child seats
• Vehicle equipment & other additional equipment
• Interior of the vehicle (cabin)
• Damage or loss of the vehicle key
• Damages/losses caused by driving on dirt roads, unpaved roads
• In case of refueling the vehicle with incorrect fuel, the lessee is solely responsible for the full restoration of the damage.
• Damages that occur after the expiration of the rental agreement without renewal are the sole responsibility of the renter.
• Damages/accidents that occur while the driver is under the influence of alcohol or other toxic substances, following a violation of the Traffic Code, or by individuals not listed in the rental contract, as well as in cases where an official document recording the incident is not provided by the police or the accident care service of the insurance company.

Please be aware that the only authority responsible for the assessment and repair of damages to the rented vehicles is the rental company Soultatos Car Rental. The renter is strictly prohibited from intervening or repairing damages to the rented vehicle. Such actions violate the terms of the company, and the company reserves the right to take legal action against any responsible party.

Data Protection:
The rental company may collect and use personal data for rental purposes, in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

Agreement Terms:
By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to comply with these terms and conditions.

Terms Modification:
The rental company reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.

Legislation & Regulations:
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Greece, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Heraklion city, in accordance with local laws and regulations.
