In the area of Kokkini Hani, are also located two orthodox churches, the Parish of Agioi Anargyroi and the Sacred Church of Most Holy Theotokos "Axion Estin".
The Parish of Agioi Anargyroi Kokkini Hani of Heraklion, does not have a long historical past.
Its roots must be sought in the year 1933 onwards, when the Hieromonk Kallinikos Daskalakis, Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Ag. John Theologian Anopoleos, erected the first small church in the name of Saint Saints Cosmas and Damian, a plot which offered the late Nicholas Theophilus Fantaoutsakis.
In the year 1938 the temple was inaugurated and was a chapel of the abovementioned Holy Monastery while at the same time serving the pastoral needs of the few inhabitants of the area.
However, the gradual increase of the families of the region in the late 1950s and the actions of the then monastery of the Holy Monastery of Panayia of Kera, Archimandrite Gregorios Aspektakis, led the late Archbishop of Crete, Eugene to ask the Greek State to establish a new Parish and the small Temple to function as a parish.
In 1963, with the decision of the Metropolitan Council No. 222 / 20-12-1963, the vision becomes reality and the 32 families formally belong to the members of the newly established Parish (Government Gazette 171 / Α / 8-10-1964 ).
In the later years the Parish population grew loudly and the functional needs of the large congregation could not be served by the small Sanctuary of Saints Anargyroi. Thus (Decade 1990) the decision was made to build a new larger Sacred Church in the name of the Most Holy Theotokos "Axion Estin".
Nowadays, the semi-underground church I is completely finished, where all the sequences are completed until the completion of the completion of the main temple.
